Grain agreement is the key issue for farmers and the economy sector

Denys Marchuk, Deputy Chair of the Ukrainian Agrarian Council, made this statement at a briefing at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.

“Due to the export potential, we manage to earn USD 23 billion from the export of agricultural products in 2022. Therefore, today, in the conditions when the war continues and the economy is in the recession, export remains the key (issue — Ed.). And the issue of the grain corridor is the number one issue today,” — Denys Marchuk said.

He noted that today the partners are confident that the grain agreement will be extended.

“This is evidenced by the recent visit of the UN Secretary General and the statement by the UN, the statement by the representatives of Türkiye, in particular the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Minister of Defense, who 95% agree that the grain agreement will be extended. The only question is under what conditions.”
