Global factors to affect increase in fuel prices – Serhii Kuiun
Currently, the potential for fuel price growth via tax refunds has been exhausted. Therefore, the main driving force in this matter is the growth of world prices.
Serhii Kuiun, Director of Consulting Group A95, made this statement during an event at the country’s main discussion platform BrainHub at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“Today there has been another wave of price adjustments, +UAH 1 in large chains, for light petroleum products. Liquefied gas rises (in price – Ed.). Unfortunately, I think this is not the last adjustment. Because we predicted this growth at the beginning of September, but, one way or another, the market lasted even 10 more days. It is still too early to talk about UAH 60 per liter. But there is no certainty that oil will stop at USD 90. Therefore, let’s see, at this point everything will depend only on external factors,” Serhii Kuiun explained.
BrainHub is the country’s main discussion platform created by Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform. It brings together experts from the state and civil society sectors. BrainHub hosts intellectual discussions around the issues of the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine. It’s the birthplace of the best ideas that will become the foundation for the road map of Ukraine’s reconstruction in all sectors: economy, infrastructure, education, agriculture, security, digital, etc.
