Four vessels pass through humanitarian corridor – Natalia Humeniuk

During a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform, Natalia Humeniuk, Head of the United Coordinating Press Center of Security and Defense Forces of the South of Ukraine, said that four ships have already used the sea humanitarian corridor.

“Indeed, four vessels have already gone this way. And this is not one case that can be attributed to chance – it is already a well-established, albeit cautious, system,” she emphasized.

Natalia Humeniuk noted that shipowners are very careful in studying the route and analyzing the probability of any threats, in order to calculate the possibilities of the ship’s passage in maximum safety.

“Shipowners have been offered to use such humanitarian corridors, but the risks that exist have also been disclosed. In particular, the activity of the enemy tactical aircraft over the Black Sea continues with their regular presence in the areas where a humanitarian corridor can go through. They are exerting psychological pressure on shipowners, given the fact that the russians are capable of behaving completely inappropriately, using both aircraft and their fleet, a fairly large number of which is in the waters of the Black Sea. From time to time there are missile carriers on duty. The danger of sea mines remains as well,” she explained.

As reported, a humanitarian corridor was created for the evacuation of ships that were in Ukrainian ports at the time of russia’s full-scale invasion.
