Financial transparency in the context of recovery is one of the key topics used by enemy actors on social media

Among a number of key topics related to the country’s recovery that were present in the social media discourse, financial transparency was the most toxic theme, particularly frequently used by enemy actors.

This was reported by Iryna Riaboshtan, senior analyst at LetsData, during a discussion at the Media Center Ukraine on the results of the analysis of the information space and the study of public opinion on Ukraine’s recovery during the war.

“Another important and highly toxic topic was financial transparency in the context of recovery. This topic is often used by various actors, but especially by enemy actors, to raise issues such as corruption and the argument that the lack of financial transparency and corruption in Ukraine will prevent a proper recovery process. This message is also aimed at an international audience, because there are funds allocated for Ukraine. This is a big challenge that was evident throughout the study because it was present in almost all the platforms, in almost all the conclusions, in all the concerns,” she explained.

It is worth noting that the results of the study commissioned by Recovery Window are based on the analysis of more than two million publications that appeared in the media and social networks from January to June this year. The research was conducted using artificial intelligence algorithms and included data from Ukrainian online media, public Facebook pages, Telegram channels, YouTube channels and X accounts in Ukrainian and russian languages.
