Explosion preceded crash: New details emerge on downed russian Ka-27 helicopter
An explosion did take place before the downing of an enemy Ka-27 helicopter on April 10 in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
Dmytro Pletenchuk, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Navy revealed this information during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“We can confirm the helicopter’s crash, and there are indications that an explosion preceded it. This suggests that the incident may not have been solely due to technical issues; rather, some onboard event likely occurred,” he emphasized.
The crash occurred at dawn, with occupiers initiating a swift rescue operation involving other helicopters and a Raptor-class patrol boat.
Pletenchuk indicated that the rescue operation is likely concluded, but casualties among personnel remain unconfirmed.
