Expert: Stories that some shelling is revenge for the work of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are part of information warfare

The Russians have a plan for medium-term planning of strikes on targets in Ukraine, and they work according to it. The whole process can take several days or even weeks, said Oleksandr Kovalenko, a military and political observer at the Information Resistance group. He expressed this opinion at a briefing at the Ukraine-Odesa Media Center.

“For example, there was an explosion on the Crimean bridge in the morning, and in the evening, 30-40 X-101 and X-555 missiles were flying towards Kyiv. At the same time, z-publics are spreading the idea that this is revenge for the Crimean bridge. Or there is an explosion in Sevastopol, a ship is destroyed. And after that, “Kalibr” or kamikaze drones fly towards Odesa or Izmail. And again, the thesis is promoted in z-publics that this is allegedly revenge for the destroyed ship. But only a few hours have passed,” says Kovalenko. He suggests that the additional investigation may be shortened to adjust to some event, but it will still take several days, not hours, to determine”.

“Russia used the strike on the abandoned hotel in Odesa to spread narratives that are not true. The hotel at the seaport was not used as a headquarters, nor was it used as a decision-making center or a place where alleged mercenaries from the US, Poland, etc. would at least be based. Russia shows photos from previous years when Humvees and other equipment from the United States were unloaded there. In this way, either they are justifying their crime or they are deceived by their agent network,” Kovalenko said.

According to him, a strong network of pro-Russian elements continues to operate in Odesa. They film the work of air defense and the results of hits and pass them either to z-publics or Russian curators to clarify the results of the attacks.
