Everyone expected russia’s economy to be quickly knocked out, but sanctions are a long-term tool — Zagrebelska
It is important that the whole world admit that sanctions imposed against such a large economy as russia do not work quickly. Agiya Zagrebelska, Deputy Chief of Staff at the National Agency on Corruption Prevention, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.
“We all expected the russian economy to be knocked out very quickly. And the first three months of the economic shock that took place in russia reinforced our expectations. But we have faced the reality that we need to recognize not only in Ukraine but also in the whole world that sanctions are a long-term tool when applied to a large economy. Therefore, there is also a need for patience, and considerable attention needs to be paid to their implementation,” — Zagrebelska explained.
