Euroskepticism and Conflicts with Neighbors: Foreign Ministry Identifies Key Themes of Russian Propaganda
Ukraine has few options for its future development—either Russian subjugation or European integration. Therefore, Russia will do everything it can to sow doubt among Ukrainians regarding й the merits of European integration.
This was stated by Georgiy Tykhyi, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during a briefing at the Ukraine Media Center.
“The main efforts of Russian propaganda will be directed specifically toward fostering Euroskepticism. You won’t hear these messages coming directly from Russia; you’ll hear them from people who appear to be pro-Ukrainian. They will call on people to be reasonable and pragmatic. In European audiences, they are already exploiting existing tensions with European partners. For example, the situation with Poland,” he noted.
