EU To Turn Off russian Propaganda TV Channels—Russia 24, TV Center International, RTR Planeta

The European Union will switch off russian TV channels, such as Russia 24, TV Center International, and RTR Planeta. The EU ministers made this decision as a part of the sixth sanction package. As a result, these TV channels will not be able to broadcast by cable, satellite, or the Internet in the EU.

Oleksandr Tkachenko, Ukraine’s Minister of Culture and Information Policy, spoke about this during his briefing at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.

“Blocking these three russian TV channels in the EU is an important success at the information diplomacy frontline. The russian propaganda kills mentally, and civilized countries are no place for it. Thus, russian propaganda bank in the EU is a major step in fighting the enemy,” Oleksandr Tkachenko indicated.

According to earlier reports, Sputnik and Russia Today channels have already been banned from the European Union earlier.
