Culture Ministry continues to bring Ukraine’s laws closer to EU standards
Within the next six months, Ukraine’s task is to adopt specific legislation, and two out of seven items mentioned by the Europeans that need to be implemented as soon as possible relate to the activities of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy.
Taras Shevchenko, Deputy Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine made this statement at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.
“The first (task) is the implementation of the provisions of the Audiovisual Media Services Directive. This is what is called the Law on Television and Radio Broadcasting. The reforms that will take place in connection with European integration will help to change the media legislation of Ukraine, bringing it closer to the EU standards. The second task is to complete the national minorities’ reform, in particular, taking into account the recommendations of the Venice Commission,” — he said.
