COVID cases decline, flu infections expected to surge by December, says Ihor Kuzin
COVID-19 cases in Ukraine, which peaked in August, are now steadily declining. Meanwhile, the country is seeing a gradual rise in acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI), primarily flu-related illnesses, with the peak expected in December and extending into early next year.
Ihor Kuzin, Deputy Minister of Health and Chief State Sanitary Doctor, shared the projections during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine.
“The current situation shows a steady decline in COVID-19 cases, which is likely to continue through the end of the year. Starting in December, we anticipate a rise in acute respiratory viral infections, primarily driven by the flu. This trend will likely persist through February, potentially extending into March next year,” Kuzin explained.
