By end of year, Ukraine to expand network of state-run language courses
By the end of this year, Ukraine plans to expand the network of state-run language courses.
Taras Kremin, Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine.
“As per the State Language Program, unanimously approved by the government on March 15, 2024, we hope that by the end of the year an extended network of state-run language courses will become operational. This does not mean that they will be for everyone. It means that they will be for those categories of people who over the years of independence, over the years of the full-scale invasion, when there is an available network, conditions and environment, still have not understood and failed to master the basics of the Ukrainian language,” Taras Kremin noted.
According to him, state-run language courses can be aimed at the elderly, those seeking Ukrainian citizenship, and families of military personnel who previously did not have such an opportunity. Perhaps such courses will be useful for those citizens of Ukraine, who, after the de-occupation of Ukrainian territories, will express their desire to study following the best methods of a rapid, dynamic and efficient transition to the Ukrainian language.
