Border crossings drop nearly 50%: SBGS details changing trends

Attempts to illegally cross the border have declined significantly compared to last summer, according to the State Border Guard Service (SBGS).

SBGS Spokesman Andrii Demchenko shared the update during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine, noting that the trend has been steadily decreasing.

“There is no overall increase in attempts to illegally cross the border. In fact, even when comparing February to January, the numbers continued to decline. Moreover, if we compare February of this year to July 2024, when the highest number of detentions at the border was likely recorded, the decrease is nearly 50%,” Demchenko stated.
