Based on the Current Generation Composition, the Deficit Will Exist at Least During the Autumn-Winter Period — Ukrenergo
There will be a shortage of electricity in Ukraine at least during the autumn-winter period. Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, Chairman of the Management Board of NPC Ukrenergo, told this during the briefing at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.
“Based on the current situation, on the current composition of generation, we understand that the deficit will exist at least during the autumn-winter period. It can be partially compensated by some measures such as imports, but not completely,” Volodymyr Kudrytskyi explained.
The Chairman of the Management Board noted that gradual restoration of generating capacities in the power system is currently underway.
“We can see that the frosts have slightly receded. We are gradually restoring the generating capacities in the power system, and gradually restoring the operation of the power plant. And gradually, the volume of generation available to us increases, thereby reducing the deficit. I think that in a few days we will reach the limit at which it will be possible to clearly adhere to the planned shutdown schedules for the regions that Oblenergo introduces,” Volodymyr Kudrytskyi added.
