Briefing on the evacuation of the civilian population from the Kupyansk district of the Kharkiv region in the conditions of increased enemy shelling and the death of volunteers of the NGO “Psiatykhatky – BAM”
Context:
Volunteers from many Ukrainian and foreign public organizations and institutions are participating in the active campaign to evacuate the civilian population from the Kupyansk district, which was launched at the beginning of August 2023 and is coordinated by the “Coordinating Humanitarian Center” at the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration. During the campaign, the lives of more than 900 residents of communities that were daily subjected to devastating shelling by the aggressor were saved. The campaign and the conditions in which it is carried out are covered by Ukrainian and world media, whose journalists have the opportunity to fulfill their professional duties thanks to the coordinated interaction of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, “Coordinating Humanitarian Center”, and Kharkiv Media Hub.
On September 19, 2023, during the evacuation mission in the city of Kupyansk, volunteers of the NGO “Piyatykhatky – BAM” were killed. The enemy is doing everything to make it impossible to continue systematic work to save the lives of Ukrainian citizens.
How all the campaign participants will work in these conditions, and what needs to be done to reduce the risks to the lives of both the volunteers themselves and the residents of the frontline areas, are questions that will be raised during the briefing in the Kharkiv Media Hub.
