About 50–100 people a day leave Kherson region – military administration

In total, almost 21 thousand people have already used the free evacuation services. This was stated by Oleksandr Tolokonnikov, Head of the Internal and Information Policy Department of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Odesa.

“About 50–100 people, mostly with children, leave Kherson region every day. Already 21,000 have used the free evacuation services, including 3,000 children. In other cities, volunteers and social protection agencies are helping people,” – the official said.

He noted that it is very difficult to persuade people to leave their homes, especially the elderly. 

“They say that they have been waiting for liberation for 8.5 months for a reason. Everyone wants to live on their land, in their homes, rebuild their homes and businesses,” – Tolokonnikov added.
