95% of boiler houses in Lviv region ready for start of heating season – Oblast Military Administration
Over 6,000 tons of coal and over 30,000 cubic meters of wood chips have already been stockpiled for the heating season.
Maksym Kozytskyy, Head of Lviv Oblast Military Administration, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“Currently, 95% of 1,682 boiler rooms are ready for the start of the heating season, they have passed the inspection. Currently, over 6,000 tons of coal and over 30,000 cubic meters of wood chips have been stockpiled. This will make it possible to work with alternative fuel,” he said.
According to the Head of Lviv Oblast Military Administration, schools and major medical institutions are currently 100% equipped with diesel generators.
In addition, he noted that work is underway to check if 16 large thermal power plants in the region have boilers and what conditions they are in. All of them will be launched on time, in accordance with the requirements of the heating season.
Also, Maksym Kozytskyy said that work is currently underway with the city’s waterworks and the experts are looking into the possibility of supplying water in the absence of electricity, in case of attacks on the energy grid.
