
35 settlements still without central water supply in Dnipropetrovsk region – Oleksandr Khorunzhyy
There is a decrease in water levels from 16 meters 77 centimeters to 9 meters in the Kakhovka Reservoir in Dnipropetrovsk region. In fact, the water in the Kakhovka Reservoir decreased by more than 7 meters and 70 centimeters during the entire period. In addition, there are a number of other negative consequences. For instance, the operation of water intake stations at a number of facilities has been stalled at the moment.
Oleksandr Khorunzhyy, Press Officer of the State Emergency Service, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“Now, unfortunately, the operation of water intake stations at a number of facilities has been stopped. And in general, 35 settlements were left without central water supply, which is actually 167,000 subscribers. Of them, 14 settlements are disconnected partially, that’s 82,000 subscribers,” said the Press Officer.
According to Oleksandr Khorunzhyy, the State Emergency Service organized the delivery of water for the population.
“A total of more than 7,000 tonnes of water was delivered. About 4,000 tonnes of it came from the State Emergency Service. We have involved 30 pieces of equipment and more than 70 people to deliver water to the population.”
