20 billion hryvnias insurance fund – Dmytro Solomchuk on additional solutions to the Grain corridor extension issue

Even despite Russia’s disruptive manipulations, the West will not make any concessions on the issue of extending the grain corridor. At the same time, Ukraine has additional solutions in case Russia creates obstacles to the corridor’s operation.

Dmytro Solomchuk, Member of Verkhovna Rada and a member of Verkhovna Rada’s Agrarian and Land Policy Committee made the relevant statement, during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.

“I think that the West won’t make any concessions, and so far Russia is still manipulating, although I don’t think the political world consider its opinion. In order to get ahead of the situation, we decided to allocate 20 billion hryvnias of insurance guarantee funds. Even if Russia does not guarantee security and is against the corridor, ships will be able to enter. There are shipowners who are ready to enter anyway, and Ukraine will guarantee them financial security in case of damage with this 20 billion insurance fund,” he added.

As a reminder, in May this year, the Grain Deal was extended for two months until July 18, 2023.
