Zelenskyy urges global investment in Ukrainian drone industry at Rome Conference: “What protects Ukraine will protect you”

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on international partners to invest in Ukraine’s drone manufacturing sector, emphasizing its pivotal role in defending against russian aerial attacks and offering to share combat-proven technologies with allied nations. He made the remarks while speaking at the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Rome.

“This is what we must focus on first, we must stop russian drones and missiles, and this means more air defense supplies, and more investments in interceptor drones, air defense systems, and of course missiles,” Zelenskyy said. “I urge all our partners to increase your investments. When russia increases its attacks, we cannot have a shortage of funding for drone production.” “More than 30 countries and hundreds of companies are represented at the conference today. And we must reach a point where Ukraine’s air defence and drone sector is supported by over 30 countries and backed by hundreds of companies,” he added.

The president highlighted Ukraine’s technological edge in the drone sector, stating that the country possesses some of the world’s most advanced systems for both offensive and defensive use.

“We are ready to share this expertise and these technologies with our partners,” he said. “Ukraine needs investment – you need skills, you need technologies. And everything we are building now to protect Ukraine will also help protect you.”
