Yurii Ihnat: Ukraine boosts production of electronic warfare systems
Ukraine has ramped up the production of electronic warfare systems, citing their effectiveness in thwarting enemy missiles and drones. Furthermore, electronic warfare systems have now become an integral component of air defense strategies.
Yurii Ihnat, spokesperson for the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, made this announcement during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
Ihnat stated, “We’re seeing a surge in the production of these systems. They’ve proven their mettle and are increasingly vital components of our air defense strategy, effectively countering threats from missiles and drones.”
Highlighting their crucial role on the front lines, Ihnat noted that these systems are actively deployed to neutralize enemy drones, which frequently swarm attack positions.
He emphasized the domestic production of electronic warfare equipment, highlighting contributions from both state-owned enterprises and private companies. Furthermore, Ihnat mentioned support from Western allies in bolstering these capabilities.
“Expanding our electronic warfare arsenal is imperative. These systems are integral to our air defense framework, aiding in the interception of aerial threats,” Ihnat stressed.
