Yurii Boyko: russian strikes target grid infrastructure to block electricity imports to Ukraine
In a recent assault on Ukraine’s energy sector, Russian forces targeted critical grid infrastructure facilitating export-import operations with European neighbors. The move appears aimed at disrupting Ukraine’s ability to import electricity.
Yurii Boiko, Advisor to the Prime Minister of Ukraine and a member of the Ukrenergo Supervisory Board, highlighted the attack during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine.
“The latest strike specifically targeted the network infrastructure involved in export-import operations between Ukraine’s system and those of our European partners. The goal was to limit the use of imports and, ideally, to sever Ukraine’s unified energy system from the European network,” Boiko explained.
