When war broke out in Ukraine, the world community looked in a different direction – Secretary General of the Organisation of American States

Luis Almagro said in his address at the Second Black Sea Security Conference.

“Now that we are providing our support to Ukraine, we have to be honest about 10 years ago: the international community looked the other way, Ukraine was abandoned, and the warning signs or worse things to come were ignored,” he said.

Luis Almagro assured that the Organisation of American States, which has been calling Russia’s war against Ukraine a war since its first statements, will continue to support Ukraine on its path to freedom and independence.
