Western Ukraine begins to experience electricity and gas shortages – Energy Industry Research Center

The relocation of people and the opening of businesses in western Ukraine have led to a shortage of electricity, according to Oleksandr Kharchenko, director of the Energy Industry Research Center, who spoke at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.

“Currently, the western regions are struggling to handle the increased load on the energy system due to the relocation of enterprises and population. As a result, there is a noticeable shortage of connections and access to both electricity and gas. These issues will need to be addressed systematically,” Kharchenko noted.
