Warm winter had a positive impact on the growth of winter crops – Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center
Warm winter weather has contributed to better germination of winter crops, which were sown later than usual due to dry fall conditions.
This was stated by Nataliia Ptukha, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.
“Farmers have some concerns, but this year, for example, there is a certain positive aspect. Because the fall was very dry, not all planned crops could be sown on time because the soil was too dry to allow it. As a result, some winter crops were planted later than usual. The fact that these winter months have been relatively warm has been beneficial, allowing these crops to develop and germinate,” she explained.
