Victims of russian violence feel discrimination from the UN – Alumni Network NGO

The UN refuses to acknowledge russia as the perpetrator, yet russia remains a member of the organization despite its military personnel committing sexual violence in Ukraine.

Oleksii Sivak, representative of the Alumni Network NGO, condemned the UN’s failure to hold russia accountable during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.

“We, the people who have survived violence (on the part of russia – ed.), cannot understand how our abuser can sit within the UN structure. They don’t even acknowledge russia as our abuser. Everyone knows, everyone understands, but no action is being taken. This is a grave injustice against victims of violence, both civilians and military,” he said.
