Venislavskyi: russia’s ballistic missile test won’t alter battlefield dynamics
russia’s display of an intercontinental ballistic missile will not shift the balance on the battlefield.
Fedir Venislavskyi, a member of Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense, and Intelligence downplayed the impact of such actions by moscow at a briefing at Media Center Ukraine.
“I wouldn’t overstate the threats posed by russia to Ukraine,” Venislavskyi remarked. “We’ve already endured attacks with hypersonic missiles like the Kinzhal and Kalibr which are exceptionally fast. This demonstrative step by the putin regime to deploy a new intercontinental ballistic missile is unlikely to change the situation on the battlefield. We were prepared for it then, and we remain prepared now.”
He emphasized the need for Ukraine to enhance its defensive capabilities to counter such threats effectively. “It’s crucial for Ukraine to have the right weapons to neutralize these threats, either on approach or within our territory,” Venislavskyi stated.
Reiterating Ukraine’s two-year-long call for advanced military aid, he underscored the importance of reliable air and missile defense systems. “These modern systems are essential to counter putin’s threats and prevent terrorist attacks on peaceful Ukrainian cities,” he concluded.
