USD 10 million invested in scientific and educational equipment for universities in the past year as part of higher education reform – Education and Science Ministry

Over the past year, eight higher education institutions underwent reorganization as part of the higher education reform. Each project included investments in the institutions, totaling USD 10 million for scientific and educational equipment across Ukrainian universities.

Mykhailo Vynnytskyi, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine.

” Over the past year, we have seen an unprecedented 8 reorganizations of higher education institutions, including 7 mergers where smaller institutions joined larger ones. This rapid pace has been remarkable, and we slowed it slightly during the admission campaign. Starting in September, we will resume our focus on certain network modernization projects,” he said.

Mykhailo Vynnytskyi noted that each reorganization and merger project involves investments in the institution.

“We are currently witnessing an unprecedented level of investment in scientific and educational equipment. Since independence, there has never been a year with USD 10 million worth of investments in scientific and educational equipment for Ukrainian universities,” he emphasized.

He pointed out that this pace will be kept up.

“Each modernization and merger project is made possible by the support of USD 1.5 million from the World Bank program, which is specifically allocated for the modernization of scientific and educational equipment,” added Mykhailo Vynnytskyi.
