Ukravtodor has cleared more than 200 km of roads and streets in the de-occupied territories
First Deputy Head of Ukravtodor (Ukraine’s State Road Agency) Andrii Ivko said during a briefing at Ukraine Media Center that M-06 Kyiv-Chop highway was already 90% operational. Road workers have also started clearing the M-07 Kyiv-Kovel highway.
Roads and streets are being cleared in Irpin, Kyiv region, every day. 99 km of the streets have already been cleared there, and more than 30 km have been cleared only yesterday.
Road service workers are currently waiting for Bucha, Hostomel, Makariv and Borodyanka to be demined to start clearing operations there, subject to the permission of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
General cleaning of the main route from Chernihiv to the capital, the M-01 Kyiv-Chernihiv highway, has also begun.
The cleaning of the H-12 Sumy-Poltava highway has started in the territory of the Sumy region liberated from the occupiers.
In total, road workers have cleared blockages and burnt equipment on 200 km of roads and streets in the de-occupied territories.
About 23,000 kilometers of roads have been damaged since the start of a full-scale russian offensive in Ukraine.
