Ukrainians’ views on Trump, Musk, and the U.S. shift sharply – political analyst highlights recent trends
Ukrainians’ perceptions of prominent American figures, institutions, and the United States overall have worsened significantly in recent months, according to new data presented by political analyst Vadym Denysenko at the Media Center Ukraine.
“Attitudes toward Elon Musk have declined by 72%, toward Donald Trump by 72%, and toward Trump’s team by 71%. Perceptions of the United States as a country have worsened by 51%,” Denysenko reported. “Support for representatives of the Republican Party has dropped by 37%, while sentiment toward Democrats has declined by 21%. Attitudes toward the American people overall have worsened by 17%, and toward President Biden by 16%.”
“In general, this reveals a fairly serious trend, not only in terms of Trumpism but also a 51% deterioration in views toward the United States as a state. It’s a troubling sign for us, a canary in the coal mine, pointing to a broader crisis of trust [ed.],” he added.
