Ukrainians prioritize utilities, health, and donations for winter allowance, a social policy official says
Most Ukrainians are using their one-time payment of 1,000 hryvnia, provided through the government’s “Winter Support” program, to cover utility bills, according to Tetiana Kiriienko, deputy minister of social policy, family, and unity.
Speaking at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine, Kiriienko noted, “Housing and utility payments remain the top expenses. Already, about 4.5 million people have paid for utilities. Spending on pharmacies and charitable donations comes in second place.”
