Ukrainians are more willing to talk about their emotional state and admit that they are not always resilient
More and more citizens are becoming aware of their psychological state and emotions and are talking about them more openly.
This was discussed at a meeting at the Media Centre Ukraine.
“I observe this positive trend and, as a psychologist, I find it very encouraging. People have become more open and honest. Not everyone is ready to work on themselves, of course, but the number of people who are is growing. It’s great that people are beginning to recognize certain aspects of their mental state and emotions. It’s unfortunate that it’s happening this way, during the war, but it’s good that we’re becoming more psychologically competent,” said Ivanna Davydenko, chief specialist of the Psychological Support Division of the Social Protection Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
According to her, both military personnel and civilians are showing an interest in psychology.
“It’s a great development, because when a person begins to reflect on themselves, asking ‘How can I help myself?’, they are already on the path to improvement,” she added.
