Ukrainian officials refused to provide information about their accounts and assets in Russia
Ukrainian officials live on funds stored in accounts in Russia. This was stated by Oleksandr Klymenko, Head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, at the Ukraine Media Center.
“Even before the full-scale invasion, we had information that some officials had certain assets and accounts in Russia, but they did not respond and refused to block these assets. This situation continued in such a way that these Ukrainian officials live in Europe, open temporary accounts, transfer funds from Russia from various banks, and use them. At that time, we were unable to freeze these accounts,” said Oleksandr Klymenko.
Such evidence could only be obtained by involving the Russian jurisdiction.
