Ukrainian meteorological service forecasts when smoke will fully clear in Kyiv

The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center has announced that the smoke enveloping Kyiv is likely to dissipate in the coming days, provided there are no active fires in certain regions of the country. 

Nataliia Ptukha, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, shared this outlook during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine. 

“The smoke will persist in Kyiv over the next few days, but if there are no fires in the southern and central areas, we anticipate improvement. Currently, the fires burning in the northern regions—specifically Kyiv, Sumy, and Chernihiv—are shifting direction and moving away from the capital,” Ptukha explained.
