Ukrainian children in russia subjected to torture and rape – Regional Center for Human Rights

The Regional Center for Human Rights is receiving harrowing accounts from children who have been returned from russia. Specialists are documenting not only inhumane treatment, militarization, and the forced imposition of citizenship but also acts of torture, rape, and cases where children were forced to witness the murder of their own parents.

Kateryna Rashevska, a PhD in international law and an expert at the Regional Center for Human Rights, revealed this information during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.

“Such facts have been repeatedly cited in reports by international organizations. But when we work with these cases directly, it is a profoundly painful experience,” she stated. “Over 1 million Ukrainian children remain under the control of the enemy. There is talk that these territories will remain occupied, and the norms of international humanitarian law are not being applied. Consequently, our children are left in a vacuum of lawlessness.”
