Ukraine withdraws oral polio vaccine, chief medical officer says

Ukraine has fully updated its national vaccination schedule, with the cessation of the oral polio vaccine and the introduction of an injectable form, health officials announced.

The decision was confirmed at the Media Center Ukraine by the Deputy Minister of Health, Chief State Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine, Ihor Kuzin. 

“Ukraine is completely discontinuing the oral polio vaccine and replacing it with an injection,” Kuzin said. “This step follows World Health Organization recommendations and is backed by scientific evidence and established medical practice.”
