Ukraine will have to purchase additional gas for the winter – Energy Industry Research Center

There is currently a sufficient amount of gas in Ukrainian storage facilities. However, enemy attacks have damaged gas production capacity.

Oleksandr Kharchenko, Director of the Energy Industry Research Center, stated this at the Media Center Ukraine.

“We are starting the heating season somewhat prematurely. Ukraine needs to seek more energy-efficient approaches rather than maintaining temperatures like +24°C in apartments. Our gas production has been seriously damaged. Therefore, to get through the winter, we will have to purchase additional gas,” he said.

Currently, Naftogaz is continuing its contracting process.
