Ukraine to see slight warm-up, overnight temps above freezing by late October, says weather service
Ukraine is expected to see mild warming both day and night starting October 22, according to a new forecast from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center.
Nataliia Ptukha, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, shared the forecast during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine.
“By the third week of October, we expect a slight temperature increase. Beginning around October 22, a shift in atmospheric pressure patterns over Ukraine will bring a change in air masses. While it won’t be a drastic rise, we are likely to avoid night frosts. Any frost that does occur will be limited to the soil surface and in localized areas. Nighttime temperatures are forecast to stay above freezing, ranging from 2°C to 7-8°C, and daytime temperatures will be more pleasant. Currently, we’re seeing 7°C to 13°C during the day, with highs up to 15°C or 16°C in Zakarpattia. After October 22, most regions will experience daytime temperatures between 11°C and 16°C,” Ptukha explained.
