Ukraine to launch new, European-style vaccination schedule in 2026

Starting January 1, 2026, Ukraine’s national vaccination schedule will adopt a European approach. This change will require a significant overhaul of the current healthcare system. Ihor Kuzin, Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Health, shared this information during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.

“The Ministry of Health is launching a new vaccination schedule that adopts the European standard of using multicomponent vaccines,” Kuzin stated. “The goal is for a child to receive maximum protection with a minimum number of injections during a single doctor’s visit.”

Kuzin added that the new schedule will introduce a new antigen to protect against the human papillomavirus for girls aged 12-13. Furthermore, Ukraine will phase out the oral polio vaccine starting January 1.
