Ukraine scores 7.4 out of 10 on social cohesion, new survey finds

According to a new nationwide study by Civil Network OPORA, Ukrainians rate their society 7.4 out of 10 for being socially cohesive.

The findings were presented by Anastasiia Romaniuk, an analyst with OPORA, during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine.

“As part of the survey, we developed a set of questions to measure how socially connected Ukrainians feel, both those living in the country and those abroad,” Romaniuk said. “A score of 7.4 reflects a relatively high level of social engagement. About 68% of Ukrainians say they feel a sense of belonging in their communities, and 46% feel their country values them.”

The conceptual framework of the study was developed by OPORA’s research team, while the polling was carried out by the Rating Sociological Group. The survey polled 2,400 respondents with 2,200 Ukrainians living in government-controlled areas of the country and 400 currently residing abroad.
