Ukraine’s highest-demand fields: engineering, agronomy, and medicine – Ministry of Education

Ukraine is prioritizing specialists in engineering, electrical engineering, and agronomy, offering over 2,000 state-funded spots in these fields with lower admission score requirements. Meanwhile, oversaturated fields like management, marketing, and law have significantly fewer budget spots and higher entry thresholds. For example, there are only 300 state-funded spots for management nationwide, 500 spots for marketing, and 750 for law.

Mychailo Wynnyckyj, Deputy Minister for Higher and Adult Education of Ukraine, announced this during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.

“Management programs currently top applicants’ preferences, despite the job market being severely oversaturated in this field. However, engineering, education, psychology, and medicine – which we as a state actively support through state funding and grant programs – also rank among students’ top ten choices,” Wynnyckyj noted.
