Ukraine’s Health Ministry urges parents to check on children ahead of school
As the new school year approaches, Ukraine’s Ministry of Health is calling on parents and guardians to be vigilant and proactive in their children’s health, highlighting the ongoing risk of infectious diseases, particularly in crowded classrooms or during trips to bomb shelters. To address this, the ministry has launched an information campaign aimed at helping families protect children and promote safe learning environments across Ukraine.
Ihor Kuzin, deputy minister of health, discussed the initiative at a press briefing held at the Media Center Ukraine.
“It has been a year since the Ministry of Health implemented these changes. The format of the certificate required for school enrollment has been streamlined,” Kuzin said. “The 086 form is now the sole certificate issued by family physicians, confirming a child’s readiness for the school year. It is valid for one year.”
Kuzin also stressed the importance of vaccination. Parents are encouraged to ensure their children are fully immunised ahead of the start of the new school year.
