Ukraine’s corn harvest this year will be 7 million tons less than last year – Denys Marchuk

This year’s corn harvest is expected to be about 25-26 million tons compared to last year’s 33 million tons.

This was reported by Denys Marchuk, Deputy Head of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council, during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.

“The harvest is definitely smaller. The effects of the drought we have experienced this season have significantly affected the total yield we expected to collect. This has particularly affected corn. If we compare it to last year, we harvested about 33 million tons, but now we expect about 25-26 million tons. This is a significant decrease that will affect both the economic activity of producers and the export potential of this crop,” said Denys Marchuk.
