Ukraine’s banking system is over-liquid, confidence remains despite the war – Andriy Dubas

Despite the ongoing pressure of russia’s full-scale invasion, Ukrainian banks continue to operate stably, demonstrating the resilience of the country’s financial system.

Andriy Dubas, President of the Association of Ukrainian Banks, emphasized this during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine.

“If we talk, for example, about the beginning of the year and today, looking at the latest information on the state of the banking sector and key indicators, I would generally characterize the situation as quite positive. First of all, one of the key liquidity indicators in the banking sector is currently at a very high level. This means that the Ukrainian banking system is over-liquid. In other words, banks in Ukraine continue to enjoy public confidence, even after three years of extreme pressure from russia’s full-scale invasion,” Dubas said.
