Ukraine repairs power grid in bordering Sumy region within a day, Ukrenergo reports

Energy infrastructure in Ukraine’s Sumy, a region on Ukraine’s northeastern border with russia, was restored within 24 hours after recent russian strikes, despite continued attacks targeting repair crews, Ukrenergo announced.

Yurii Boiko, an NPC Ukrenergo Supervisory Board member, said at the Media Center Ukraine that field specialists are working under relentless pressure to fix damage from shelling in record time.

“In the past two to three weeks, when the enemy intensified strikes on power facilities, particularly in Sumy, equipment was indeed damaged,” Boiko said. “But as of today, all repairs were completed by the end of the workday. This shows that our people understand the reality we are facing. I believe the coming winter will again be a battle between our most vital resource, our people, and russian missiles and drones.”

Boiko added that in several frontline areas, repair teams remain unable to operate because of heavy shelling and deliberate strikes on emergency workers.
