Ukraine needs reforms to strengthen anti-corruption agencies – NABU

The protection of anti-corruption agencies by Ukrainian society allows institutions to remain outside political processes and preserve their independence. This was stated by Semen Kryvonos, Director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, at the Ukraine Media Center.

“Ukraine needs systemic reforms to strengthen anti-corruption institutions. To clean up institutions, to strengthen their independence, including from political influence. To carry out deep, systemic reforms so that these institutions are headed by independent leaders and staffed by independent investigators, prosecutors, and detectives,” he said.
