Ukraine might join the EU by 2030 – Yevheniia Kravchuk
Brussels has announced the terms of Ukraine’s accession to the EU by 2030.
Yevheniia Kravchuk, member of the Ukrainian delegation to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada’s Humanitarian and Information Policy Committee, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“Ukraine’s accession by the end of this decade – by the end of 2030 – has effectively been announced by Brussels. That is, by 2030, the European Union must also carry out its internal reforms in order to be ready to expand and receive new members. And of course, Ukraine should set even tighter deadlines for itself, we should work twice or three times faster and demonstrate political unity around the European integration course,” Yevheniia Kravchuk explained.
She noted that in Ukraine, the level of support for joining the EU is currently at 84%. Kravchuk expressed hope that this will motivate politicians, regardless of party affiliation, to work quickly and make the necessary decisions.
