Ukraine may receive several new air defense systems soon – Fedir Venislavskyi

Europe has been reluctant to transfer its air defense systems, but the situation could change in the near future. Fedir Venislavskyi, MP and member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, stated this during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.

“European countries, understanding the nature of Putin’s regime, are very cautious in making decisions about providing weapons they currently have in their own arsenals. Doing so would weaken their own capabilities. For example, this applies to Germany’s air defense systems. However, after getting signals from American partners that they are ready to consider both purchasing weapons for Ukraine and approving the transfer of their own equipment, deliveries could accelerate. We won’t receive the 15 or 16 (air defense – ed.) systems initially announced, but we have a chance to get some in a short time,” he said.
