Ukraine may avoid blackouts by this weekends, says Oleksandr Kharchenko

Ukraine could see an end to blackouts as soon as this weekend. 

Oleksandr Kharchenko, director of the Energy Industry Research Center, provided this information during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine. 

“Ukrenergo has demonstrated remarkable recovery efforts with their equipment and crews, and they are recovering at an impressive rate. It’s September 3rd, just nine days after the massive enemy attack on August 26th, and we already have one or two operational lines functioning across the country. I believe that by the day after tomorrow, we might see only one line down, or potentially none at all, meaning there might not be any outages by next weekend,” Kharchenko stated.
