Ukraine is currently importing approximately 2.1 gigawatts of electricity, according to Dmytro Sakharuk

During the Kyiv Security Forum, Dmytro Sakharuk, CEO of D.Trading (the trading company of the DTEK group), stated that the situation in the energy sector is challenging but under control. He emphasized that a normal winter is only possible thanks to the daily hard work of energy sector personnel.

“We must act quickly to restore power. First and foremost, we need to secure maximum access to the equipment that is still available in Europe. Second, we must finance restoration efforts promptly and improve the energy efficiency of facilities,” he noted.

According to Sakharuk, electricity imports are operational as well. The current maximum import capacity is 2.1 gigawatts. It is being used to balance the power system.
